Groblersdal is a farming town situated 32 km North Loskop Dam in Mpumalanga. Groblersdal is South Africas second largest irrigation settlement. The main crops in this man-made floodplain are cotton, tobacco, citrus fruit, table grapes, maize, wheat, vegetables, sunflower seeds, peanuts, lucerne and peaches.

Groblersdal was layout on the farm Klipbank as a result of Loskop Dam and named after the original owner WJ Grobler.

This lovely town was founded in 1938 on the farm Klipbank and named after the owner WJ Grobler. Owing to it’s location in the Olifants River irrigation area below the Loskopdam, Groblersdal benefits fully from the avaibility of water. Intensive agricultural activities under five irrigation schemes cover a total surface area of 28 800 ha. Water, good soil conditions and a pleasant climate ensure that the Loskop Valley is one of the most fertile agricultural areas in South Africa. The gross agricultural production of the district is estimated at approximately R250 million. The Loskop Valley captures the summer sun to provide year round climate for boating, hiking and riding with the added bonus of viewing a wide variety of game. The game farms are open to hunters and bow hunters at certain times of the year while game viewing on foot takes place throughout the year.

Zithabiseni Holiday Resort
