The Tulip festival takes place annually. DULLSTROOM Has the highest train station, geographically, in the country and is one of the coldest places in SA. This idyllic little town is 30km from Trout River Falls, and is a major tourist attraction with its country shops, hot air ballooning, the birds of prey centre, horse riding, a hand weaving centre, Flights over the area and restaurants. LYDENBURG (town of suffering) The Lydenburg museum where you can see replicas of the Iron Age clay masks found in the area. (the originals are in the Cape Town Museum). Near our Farm Horse riding at the Coromandel estate. Take a drive through the Kwena basin. Take the scenic Long Tom pass to Sabie, pass the Highest point in the area at 2150metres above sea level, visit the Mac Mac falls, as well as 5 falls in the area, get to Graskop and walk to Gods Window, see the Blyde River Canoyn. continue on to Pilgrims Rest, (120km from TRF) then drive back on the R533 to Trout River Falls, ready to go fishing in the early evening. DirectionsTake the N12 from Johannesburg, or the N4 from Pretoria, pass Bronkhorstspruit, Witbank and Middelburg, then turn off to Belfast. Turn right in Belfast and take the R540 to Dullstroom, in Dullstroom continue on the R540 for about 31.5km, Trout River Falls is on your left hand side, about 22 km from Lydenburg. This is an ideal stop over if you're heading for the Kruger National Park.
