Description

Numbela is small, but beautifully formed. Each cottage (there are two at present) is fully detached, self contained and private. The cottages and the owner s house are contained within 7 acres of garden alongside the river. Beyond the garden, the rest of the property, some 200 acres of wetlands, woodland and bush, much of it alongside the river, is available for exploration.

Both cottages are available for either Bed and Breakfast or self-catering accommodation. We don t serve dinner (although if you are arriving late, let us know and we will prepare a light meal for you), but each cottage is fully equipped for you to prepare your own meals or there are a number of good restaurants in the area which we can book on your behalf.

Children welcome though children under 12 years of age by prior arrangement.

River Cottage
Beautiful comfortably furnished thatch cottage on the White Waters River with 1 queen size bed, an en-suite shower, a mezzanine level over the dining room with a single bed accessed by a step ladder, kitchen equipped for self-catering, lounge with an open fireplace. Patio and outdoor braai / barbeque area. Sounds of the river heard from the cottage. Breakfasts by prior arrangement, served on the cottage patio.

Yellowwood Cottage
Larger, split level comfortably furnished, family cottage with 1 queen size bed and an adjoining room with 2 single beds, full bathroom with an outdoor shower, kitchen equipped for self-catering , lounge with an open fireplace, large verandah with a swing seat and a Weber braai/barbeque. Set slightly further from the river but completely private with own beach and rustic seating on the river banks. Breakfasts by prior arrangement, served on the cottage verandah.

The Tin House
A beautiful , luxuriously decorated Pilgrim’s Rest style house, with 4 bedrooms, 2 single beds per room, all rooms beautifully and individually decorated, each with an en-suite shower, 1 bath, fully equipped kitchen for self-catering , large dining room, lounge with a fireplace and a CD/DVD player, large outdoor boma area for exclusive use by The Tin House guests, facing the forests. Private bedrooms and bathrooms with a large central communal lounge and dining room . Self-catering accommodation only in The Tin House.

Numbela is peaceful and quiet and only accept children under 12 years by arrangement and ask parents to respect other people’s right to quiet

Breakfasts
A choice of: a Full English Breakfast, Health Breakfast or Continental Breakfast Breakfasts are at an extra charge. Breakfasts are by arrangement only as items are freshly sourced prior to your arrival.

What to bring
Please bring your food items, charcoal, firelighters, mountain bikes , walking shoes and binoculars. Firewood is provided.

Conservation of water, firewood and electricity is kindly requested to reduce our carbon footprint .

We will gladly give advice of interesting things to do in the area depending on your interests, and can also assist with adventure sports, interesting tours, restaurant bookings and massages. Light laundry on request, charged according to weight.
